Feed your inner bean counter

Are you longing for a career change? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Because I’ve literally written the book on the topic. Twice.

I was commissioned to write career books for high school students on fashion (fun to research) and accountancy (surprisingly interesting). To do this, I interviewed what seemed like hundreds of people, in every nook and cranny of those respective industries. It wasn’t easy – fashionistas will only agree to interviews if they know someone famous has already agreed. So it took a lot of effort to get the first designer. After that, the doors opened.

Eventually, fashion luminary Akira Isogawa wrote the forward.

So how did the books do? Well, they can still be found on the library shelves of most high schools in Australia.

Everything you ever wanted to know to break into the exciting world of accounting!

They were also (surprisingly, to be honest), reviewed favourably in the national press:

Carter has written an engaging book on what has been considered a dry topic. Excellent use of interviews and 100 per cent Australian content, plus an engaging and easy-to-read format make this a useful resource.
